BD FACSAria-Fusion 5L- Balgrist

5 laserlines are available spatially separated for excitation: 355 nm (UV), 405 nm (violet), 488 nm (blue), 561 nm (yellow/green) and 633 nm (red). Note: 355 nm and 405 nm Lasers can be used simultaneously! The instrument can record up to 18 parameters in parallel as described in the optical configuration.

70 µm, 85 µm, 100 µm and 130 µm nozzles are available for cell sorting of material ranging from bacteria to large cells like fat cells or tubules.

The sorter is operated by independent power users and via operator-based sorts. Operator-based sorts are available on request Mo-Fr from 09:00-17:00. For mored details contact scmb@balgristcampus.ch

Please consult our guidelines for sample preparation if you are unclear about how to prepare your cells for the sorting. A BSL2 sterile bench and a small CO2-incubator are available on request.

Samples as well as collected cells can be kept at desired temperature (4° - 42°C).

Sorted cells can be collected in following containers

• 4 x 5 ml tubes,
• 2 x 15 ml falcons,
• 4 x 1.5 ml eppis,
• 6 well, 24 well, 48 well, 96 well and 384 well plates

An aerosol management system allows cell sorting up to biosafety level 2 on this machine.
